Whether working with new company's seeking to locate their business here, or working with existing businesses that seek to expand their operations, the Economic Development office works tirelessly to find grant monies, funding sources, the right location for each business, and works closely with the employment services to ensure there is a competent and fluid work force.

bulldozerIn June 2009, the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors approved the special use application for Luck Stone, Inc. to move forward seeking approval from the appropriate State and Federal agencies which would allow them to begin operations at a new quarry site in Prince Edward.

In April 2009, Luck Stone arranged for county leaders to attend their facility in Goochland.

On May 6, 2009, the Industrial Development Authority broke ground at the Prince Edward County Industrial Park where 4 new sites will be graded and developed to allow new industries a place to come and grow their business.

People with shovels in the mudSenator Frank Ruff joined the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors, members of the Tobacco Indemnification Commission, and Community leaders to move the first shovefuls of mud at Lot 7 across from the YMCA.

The newest Lowe's Home Improvement Center opened in the Prince Edward County Business Park outside of Farmville, Virginia on January 5th, 2008 at 9 a.m. with a Board Cutting Ceremony. 150 Full and Part time jobs were created, re-affirming Prince Edward County's place as the commerce hub for the six county region.

Business Park Hwy 15Prince Edward County is the business and service hub for 6 surrounding counties and serves more than 150,000 people.
